Year 1 Class Blog

On Monday 11th January, Year 1 spent an exciting morning in John Scurr’s garden for a workshop with Cassie supporting our learning of Animals and their habitats in Science. Children were sent on a mission to find different bugs in and around the garden.

Year 1 found worms, centipedes, snails and pond snails! They carefully held them in their hands and used magnifying glass to take a closer look. Year 1 learnt how to keep a bug safe in a container when moving it from its habitat and all pupils continued to be curious scientists by studying the shape of their bugs and drawing them.

It was quite exciting to get so up, close and personal with these mini beasts and everyone was very brave in holding the bugs in their hands!
